I was thinking of getting a Celestron OTA Omni 150R 6" F5 refractor.
Has anyone had any experience of this???
I already own a 10 inch orion Dobbybut wanted something good for planets and general observing without the pain of collimation

Steve - I have not had direct experience of the Omni, but most 6" refractors will have collimatable cells. You may not use them as much but you will still come up against them. An f/5 refractor will have little benefit on the planets unless you can stump for an apo - the fast achromatic optics will show false colour and on bright planetary targets (and remember you will be pushing the magnification with an f/5) that colour will be more marked. If you are really after a planetary scope and want to go the refractor route then get an f/8 6" rather than f/5.
